The Chair
Nordic Scholarships
The Canada Research Chair With Living Environments of the North offers one northern scholarship at each cycle (bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate) annually for 5 years (2024 to 2029). These scholarships are intended to support Indigenous and non-Indigenous people who come from or have lived in the North, who have life experiences, studied or worked in the North, or who wish to develop a research project in line with the Chair’s research axes. Please note that the Chair favors a flexible definition of the North, Nordicity, living environments and rurality.
These scholarships are primarily intended for students enrolled in a geography program at UQAM. Anyone enrolled at UQAM in another program under the supervision or co-supervision of the chairholder may also apply. Each recipient of a Nordic scholarship undertakes to participate actively in the Chair’s activities.
